Quotes for Essay 2
“we do not have the things you have. You have clean things We do not have.” (Kozel 44)
This quote really dives into the lack of equality in schools, this is because only the rich have the resources to access these special schools that can offer a higher education.

The Right to Own Students Language
When is it really accepted to talk using ones own language, that is the real question. In a academic setting should a student be able to use there own tongue, yes they should. The Conference on College Composition and Communication clearly states, “We affirm the students’ right to their own patterns and varieties of language” Writing is about expressing who you are, we are always thought to be unique and to stick out. I have found that “the man” as in teachers and etc. like to make students write in one style. A type of style that is non-risky, and plain old boring. It really does not take a lot for someone to write in the exact way they are told. The sign of a good writer is to take a risk and step outside of the comfort zone, because that is when great things happen. Think of all the great things we would not have if people just settled, we would not have some of the greatest works of art ever created.
Think of author J.K. Rowling, she was told numerous times that her story wasn't good enough and it was to weird, but did that stop her? No. Look at Eminem, if he listened to what everyone said about him, he was white and shouldn't rap. He took it to the next level. Nothing great is ever created by doing what is expected. You need to shatter expectations. Thats when you become great.

Identity: Most Important to me!

What is identity? Identity is the fact of being who or what a person or thing is. Everyone has there own unique identity, it is what makes one different from everyone else in the world. To me, language is the best way to identify oneself. Language helps create bonds that, other things can’t. When walking down the street in a foreign country, being catholic or being a millionaire can not accomplish anything unless you can speak the same language. “I am my language. Until I can take pride in my language, I cannot take pride in myself” (250-251) Language is the first line, when it comes to showing off who you are. Think about how unlikely it would be to become friends with someone who does not speak the same language as you, it is near impossible. By talking and listening you learn more about people and they learn about you. “A language which they can connect their identity to, one capable of communicating the realities and values true to themselves” (247) How do people make most of their friends…. by talking and learning more about others. Language is the one main thing that everyone can identify by and about because it is something everyone has. If you are somewhere where you don't know anyone or anything, and you hear some one speaking your same tongue, you most definitely would gravitate to them, where they are male, female, cat or dog. Language is the number one identifier. “Chicanas feel uncomfortable talking in Spanish to Latinas” (250) One could have everything the world the same as you, but if you do not speak the same language, there is nothing, language is the number one thing to identify oneself. Getting To Know Me!
Hi I am Nick Maciejewski
The most ridiculous lie I have ever told is when I told my sister that she was adopted, I said that mom and dad did not want to hurt her feelings!
When I sit back and really get after the writing I just let the words flow. No need for an outline when you have a train of thought like this.
My writing experience so far has been iffy, I always have good ideas but I don't always carry those over effectively
One issue that is important to me is based on grades I believe that students should be able to reapply for more scholarships, if they are doing well. Students that put in the work should be rewarded.
Throughout my time in High School I played bot baseball and football, I started playing baseball when I was 6! This summer I even coached my own baseball team!
One of my passions is watching baseball, Lets Go METS
When I sit back and really get after the writing I just let the words flow. No need for an outline when you have a train of thought like this.
I am not a big user of social media, but when I do I usually am posting on Instagram
The most thing for me to learn this semester is time management
One issue that is important to me is based on grades I believe that students should be able to reapply for more scholarships, if they are doing well. Students that put in the work should be rewarded.
I rate myself as a writer at a B, I have very good ideas but I do not let them translate to paper!
